Jamshoro: One protester killed by police firing



JAMSHORO: At least one campaigner was killed and more than a few others injured when police and Rangers cruelly tortured and opened fire on the activist of Sindh United Party (SUP) here Thursday, reports ARY NEWS.

The SUP activists were protest on the induction of their party workers in what they claimed false cases by police and against the influx of IDPs of military operation-affected area in Sindh.

Hundreds of workers of the nationalist party hold a rally from Jamshoro to Super Highway and staged a sit-in there, suspend the traffic between Karachi and Hyderabad.

They also torch a truck and two other vehicles during their protest, the channel reports.

Heavy contingents of police and Rangers reach the site and compulsorily attempted to disperse the protester from the scene. On resistance, law enforcement personnel scuffled with the SUP personnel and brutally baton charged and tortured, leaving many injured, ARY News footage shows.

A protester was also shot dead allegedly by the dismissal of the Rangers, says the channel.

Super Highways has now been open for the traffic and the protesters have been dispersed from the scene. More contingent of police and Rangers were summoned from neighboring Hyderabad district and sent to Indus main road where the protesters were jamboree, say news reports.
