Peshawar hotel blast toll soars to 15

PESHAWAR: The decease toll in last night bombing in a noble hotel in Peshawar has reach to 15 including three overseas nationals, while dozens of others are injured and more than a few persons reported missing, reports rehmankhan66@gmail.com (Rehman).The blast at the access of a five-star hotel at GT Road of Saddar was so controlling that it completely smashed the hotel’s main entrance and exterior structure. Several vehicles parked outside the hotel were also cracked in the blast.AIG Peshawar said that fifteen people have been kill in the blast while approximately 50 others were injured, counting many foreigners.Fire erupts at the ground floor of the building behind the blast and was extinguished by the firefighters. Army troops all along with the police and paramedics indoors at the scene soon after the incident and cordoned off the area.The injured were hurried to nearby Lady Reading Hospital and extra medical facilities in the town. Many foreigners, including three citizens of Nigeria, were built-in in the injured. It is noted here that the hotel was being used as the permanent residence for United Nations’ various agencies’ staffers deputed in NWFP. Three official of the United Nations World Food Programmer were also among the injured. The hotel is situated adjacent to NWFP Provincial Assembly and other important public offices.Eyewitnesses told the reporter that the terrorists boarding in a car first under attack the security checkpost at the entrance of the hotel. At the same time, a Shehzore vehicle, filled with explosives, attempt to enter the hotel premises and on resistance by the security guard rammed with the outside wall.Police also arrested two suspected persons from the blast site.According to preliminary investigations, near 550 kg of explosives were used in the blast, says the channel.
